Uzi Pastry Ingredients

3 phyllo dough
350 grams (2 cups) of rice
750 grams (3 cups) boiling water
4-5 tablespoons of unshelled raw almonds
1 bowl of ground peas
1 carrot
1 chicken breast
17 grams (1 tablespoon) butter
22 grams (1 tablespoon) olive oil
Salt, pepper
For the topping
1 egg yolk
Sesame and olive oil

Uzi Pastry Recipe

First of all, let’s sort and wash the rice, fill a pot with water and boil it, add 1 teaspoon of salt, and take it off the stove. Let’s add the rice to the boiling water and leave it aside. Let’s take the chicken breast in a pot, put enough water on it and let it boil. Let’s cut the carrot into cubes, put it in a pan, add the peas on it, add water on it and let it boil.

Let’s add olive oil to a pan, sauté the cracked almonds lightly, turn off the stove, and keep the almonds aside. Let’s take vegetable oil in a rice cooker, add the rice that we soaked in hot water and drained, let’s fry it lightly, add three glasses of hot water, add salt, let our rice cook. In the meantime, let’s take our boiled chicken into a strainer and chop it into cubes when it cools down. Take the boiled peas and carrots in a strainer. Let’s add diced chicken breast, boiled carrots and peas to the stewed rice, add black pepper and roasted almonds and mix them together. There will be 18 triangles in total, let’s lay one of the triangles you cut in a bowl, fold the long parts back, apply olive oil, fill the part that comes to the bowl with the stuffing rice, cover it with the dough on the side. Turn the bowl upside down and place it on the greased baking tray. Let’s oil it and apply egg yolk, then sprinkle sesame seeds and bake at 200 degrees until golden brown.
