Festive Holiday Recipes To Try This Season - Stitch & Salt (1)

Guys, I am SO ready to jump into full on holiday mode now that it is December 1st. Last night, we did our first holiday lights drive complete with hot chocolate, and to see the look of wonder in my kids’ faces made my heart burst with joy. Along with the twinkling lights, another thing I love about the holidays is all the festive food, from themed co*cktails to appetizers to Christmas morning brunch. If you haven’t guessed yet, I love to eat. On the blog today, I’m sharing a roundup of festive holiday recipes to try this season. I hope this post puts you in the holiday spirit.

Monique’s Naughty & Nice Holiday Punch

If you’re hosting a holiday gathering, try this holiday punch recipe made with vodka, cranberry juice, and Prosecco. Bonus points to this recipe because you can make a big batch instead of having to make individual co*cktails.

Healthier Gingerbread Cookies

Not that you need to make all cookies healthier, but wouldn’t this be a fun project with the kiddos that didn’t leave them with a terrible sugar crash. This healthy gingerbread cookie recipe is made with whole wheat pastry flour, coconut oil, and coconut sugar.

Cranberry Brie Bites

Need a quick holiday appetizer that you can whip up? These cranberry brie bites made with puff pastry look fancy as hell and only require four ingredients. We are hosting family for Christmas Eve, and I’ll definitely be whipping up these little bites for our appetizer spread.

Chocolate Cinnamon Sugar Pull Apart Wreath

How amazing would this be to pull out of the oven on Christmas morning? Traditionally, we make a batch of monkey bread, but I’m thinking this would be another delicious option for Christmas morning brunch. Plus, you can make the dough the night before and throw it in the oven to bake while your family is opening gifts.

Baked Ziti

I realize this baked ziti isn’t a holiday recipe per se, but we always seem to have little get togethers with family and friends this time of year, and I like to have some go-to crowd pleasing dinner recipes I can whip up. You really can’t go wrong with a big ol’ baked pasta dish with melty cheese.

Holiday Cheese Board

How gorgeous is this holiday cheese board by Damn Delicious? I plan on sharing my own holiday charcuterie spread on the blog soon, but I just love the colors of this version. So festive!

Healthy Hot Chocolate

This is a hot chocolate recipe you can feel good about making every single night this holiday season. It’s made with almond milk, coconut milk, quality cocoa, and maple syrup. As someone who has to be careful about ingredients because of a chronic health condition, I really appreciate a healthier version of a comfort food recipe.

Overnight Cinnamon Apple French Toast Bake

My family goes bananas for french toast made with brioche bread. Seriously, they will eat an entire loaf in one meal (and there is just the four of us!) This overnight french toast bake made with brioche, cream cheese, and cinnamon apples is definitely a contender for our Christmas morning brunch spread.

Healthy Peanut Butter Blossoms

Peanut Butter Blossoms are ALWAYS a part of our holiday cookie baking day that we do with my family every year. We bake up the regular version, but this version made with just six healthy ingredients like coconut sugar, natural peanut butter, and flaxseed would be perfect for someone who has food intolerances or is vegan.

Apple and Brie Crostini With Hot Honey

I have yet to try the popular food trend hot honey which is being used on everything these days. This little appetizer made with baguette, brie, apple, and prosciutto all drizzled with the ubiquitous hot honey looks absolutely divine.

Easy Vanilla Bean Christmas Lights Cookies

These sugar cookies look like something I could actually bake! These cookies use brown butter and vanilla bean powder which sounds so delicious (big vanilla fan here!) The decoration involves a simple vanilla icing, melted chocolate, and red and green M&Ms.

Bacon, Egg, and Potato Breakfast Casserole

We have baked this easy breakfast casserole every Christmas morning for the last few years. Sometimes we switch out the bacon for sausage for a change. It’s so good both ways.

Festive Cranberry Margarita

If you know me personally, you know that a margarita is my co*cktail of choice, especially so when it’s served with a bowl of salsa and chips. This holiday take on the classic co*cktail looks super yummy.

I hope you try some of these festive holiday recipes with your loved ones this season. I know I will! Follow along in my Instagram Stories to see what else we are cooking up in the Rohr house. For more recipe ideas, check out this post with all my favorite recipe blogs and recipes.
