This An Elmwood Trail Episode 1 walkthrough will help you pass Episode 1 (Episode 2 is coming soon) while minimizing spoilers. We divided the walkthrough into different sections based on dates but we want you to rely on your skills before using the walkthrough.

21 days after Zoey went missing
Chat with the Unknown Sender and Tim
The game starts with an anonymous person sending you a message 21 days after Zoey disappeared. The unknown sender will force you to take up the case of the missing girl even though the police have already given up.
You will message a colleague called Tim after reluctantly taking the case. After the back-and-forth reply (which does not affect the ending), Tim will decline to help you with the case.
Get the first package
Check your desk (screen's left corner) for a box containing different items related to the missing girl.
Get the second package
You will receive something of immense value again. Close the message and go to the desk and you will see a small box containing the missing girl’s phone.
Unlock Zoey's phone
Boot the phone, and you will see messages from her Mum (4), Dad (3), and Missed calls (27) on the lock screen. You will be asked to input a five-digit code to unlock the phone. The five-digit unlock code is her enrollment number (8-5-18-5).
Get Lily’s phone number
Open the clipboard and tap on the sentence “Last seen by her father leaving to visit her friend Lily.” This means you must find Lily’s number.
Open Zoey’s phone and tap on Lily. You will see a blinking message “576 messages deleted” i.e., you won’t be able to see her number.
Open Valeria’s chat, scroll up to see Lily’s number (697-8424), and then tap on it.
Chat with Lily
Start a conversation with Lily. Here, you will discuss the missing girl, the night she went missing, the party, and Betty whom Lily does not like. Before you can get the name of the party organizer, someone takes away her phone, tells you to stay away, and then blocks you.

25 days after Zoey went missing
Complete the data recovery process
Go to Zoey’s phone and tap the recovery icon on the screen upper left corner. Click on Recovery Manual input and you will be taken to a code-entering section where you solve a puzzle in five moves.
The solution to the puzzles is:
- Switch 14 and 8
- Switch 8 and 10
- Switch 8 and 6
- Switch 8 and 7
- Switch 5 and 1
After solving the puzzle, you will recover two chats, 3 emails, and 3 pictures. Tap to finish.
Check Zoey’s message with Betty
Open Zoey’s chat with Betty and scroll up. Check for the three blinking messages from the two individuals. The messages are:
- “OMG… is Brad planning anything special for you?”
- “Then, I’ll just mail them to you”
- “Let’s meet at Lily’s place at 8?” Tap on each message.
Check Zoey’s mail from Betty Johnson
Open Zoey’s mail and scroll down to Betty Johnson. Open the mail and tap the blinking QR code to show you the coordinates 69.2 N, 77.1 W.
Do not scan the code. However, if you do, you will open a real-life YouTube link to the music video “Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley”
Find the house party location
Open the browser on your phone. Tap on Riverstone Map and enter the coordinates in the top space. This will show the location called Treetops Mansion.
Register Betty's Number on Your Phone
Open the messaging app on Zoey’s phone. Open Betty's chat and tap on the profile picture. Tap on the contact number to register her number on your phone.
Interrogate Betty
Talk to Betty and she will talk about being Zoey and Lily.
Connect the dots
After talking to Betty, a white undulating circle will come up at the screen bottom. Tap on it to show the sentence you learned and tap the sentences connected. The position of the sentence changes, but you should connect the following:

Unlock Zoey's Diary Page 1
After connecting the clue, you will get a summary. Afterwards, tap the white circle and go to Zoey’s diary. Tap on Page 1, Aug 16th, 2022, and solve a riddle to unlock it. To answer the riddle, go to her Gallery, and on the same date, you will see “From Mom”
Enter the text in the box to unlock the diary page. The page contains Zoey’s 18th birthday accounts. However, at the lower part of it page is a doodling. Take note of this doodling.
Respond to Lily
Lily will message you almost immediately and explain that it was her mom who blocked you. You will talk about your discussion with Betty and her reluctance to talk. Lily will advise you to blackmail her.
Find a way to blackmail Betty
Open Gallery on Zoey’s phone and tap on the hidden icon on the screen upper left corner. Use the doodling we talked about before to unlock the gallery. Once unlocked, you are faced with an image of Betty throwing up on the toilet.
Send the image to Betty
Send Betty a picture to her, and she will start to panic. However, she will not say anything. When you threaten her about sending the picture to Lily, she will reveal that the address is her boyfriend's (Kyle) uncle’s house. However, she will not agree to send Kyle’s number.

Twenty-nine days since the night of the disappearance.
Inspect your latest package
Tap the envelope you just revealed and you will see a picture of Zoey entering a White Falco car with the large part of the plate number hidden, with only the number “42” visible.
Search Zoey's mail
To find the owner of the car, open her mail and you will see an ad for Fiesta Motor Info, a website that provides information on cars.
Find the car owner
Go to your browser and type “fiesta.com.” Input the following:
You will get three matches: Bill Anderson, Mike Davis, and Timothy Fernandes. Only Bill and Mike have 42 as the last numbers on the plate.
Start a conversation with the car owner
Converse with Mike to reveal a few things he knows. After discussing with him, tap the undulating white circle and solve the puzzle.
Solve the puzzle
The solution to the puzzle is to connect the following sentences.

Playoholic solution to the mini-game is to tap the free squares until the arrows look like the picture above. Solving the puzzle will unlock a chat message, two emails, and two pictures. Afterwards, tap on Finish.
Check Zoey’s mail
Inspect the mail Zoey got from Betty Johnson about her latest merch. You will see her wearing a hoody alongside her website URL (bettyblogs.com).

Type the URL in your phone browser and check the blog post titled “Kyle and I are stronger than ever”
On the blog post is a blinking picture of Kyle with some numbers on the hoody back. Tap the picture to chat with Kyle.
Read Zoey’s Diary Page 2
Open Zoey diary note and tap on Page 2, Aug 23rd, 2022. Solve the riddle. You can get the answer by going to the gallery and checking the pictures dated July 12th, 2022. The hands of the clock spell a letter and the four spell out a word.
Read the diary and notice the symbol at the lower part.
Continue the data recovery process
Tap the recovery button to play another mini-game. This is a little mathematics mini-game, where you are to get the number 71 from the formula a x b – c =71.

Tap on the picture then tap on Edit to adjust the brightness (76) and contrast (37) and see the pet’s name.
Enter the pet’s name to unlock the account.
Look for Lilly at the Party
Look for a picture that shows Lily at the party and talk to her again.

Talk to Zac and he will send you an audio recording. Count the number of taps per pause in the audio recording. You should get 3-1-6-4-2-1-2.
Call the number
Call the number and it will be revealed to be the hotline for Riverstone Carwash. Dial 2 to join the club, you will get a message from a new number. End the call
Recreate and arrange the events
Ensure you read the chat well, and arrange the events in the order they happened:

Open her mail and app and check for the mail from the Riverstone Car Wash. The highlighted letters will form a website name i.e., vault8.com
Visit the website
Use your phone to visit the website. Then click on Begin to kickstart a mini-game. For each question, choose the options in the table below.

Continue the Data Recovery Process
Start the data recovery process again and solve the puzzle associated. The mini-game is about converting square outlines to full squares. Tapping a square will convert the square immediately around it in the four cardinal points to full squares.
Solve the possibility of recovering a mail, two chats, and two pictures.
Read the group chat
Check the recovered group chat called “Chicks and Kicks” and look for two blinking messages. Also, gather useful information.
Contact Brad
Tap on Brad's contact number in the group to register it on your phone. When you message, he will not answer. So, dial the number (677-8654)
Talk to Rajan
Talk to Rajan about the stolen cartons since he said he can help with the case. Note the carton ID.
Send proof to Rajan
Check the post on Zoey’s Pixabowl. Look for melanie.mathews. Check her profile and you will see a picture of Kyle holding a bottle with the cartons behind him. Tap the blinking picture and send it to Rajan.
Talk to Rajan after he sorts out the stone items.
